Mountain tea, otherwise known as Gentian, has many health properties. These include:
- It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects on the body. Works great as a supportive agent for bronchitis, sinusitis.
- Reduces feelings of fatigue and exhaustion.
- Has a positive effect on immunity; when used with flu and colds, it shortens the period of infection.
- Contains antioxidants that help fight free radicals, responsible for, among other things, ageing of the body, so with the help of the tea, we will stay young for longer!
- In addition, tea is a great source of minerals such as iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium, sodium, flavonoids, tannins and copper.
- Often used to relieve irritation and discomfort from the digestive and urinary tract.
Below are suggested recipes using mountain tea:
Winter tea recipe:
Pour water into a pot. Add about 5-7 sprigs of mignonette per half litre of water. Boil. Add two cloves, a stick of cinnamon, a smaller sliced orange. Once cooled (50-60 degrees), add honey to taste.
Summer tea recipe:
Put 5-7 sprigs of Gentian into a jug. Pour boiling water over half of the jug. Then add cold water. Add a few sprigs of fresh mint. Sweeten to taste with carob syrup.
