An aged Greek style icon made on a special canvas and then glued with it onto a wooden board, prepared as for a written icon.
The method by which the icon was made is durable and resistant to both sunlight and other atmospheric conditions.

Description
According to tradition, this icon was written by the Apostle Luke himself. In a later age, it was found and a monastery was erected on the spot where it was found. When the town where the monastery and the icon were located was invaded, it was thought that the icon had been burnt in a fire, but it miraculously survived and was preserved intact. It was found on a pine tree near the destroyed monastery. It was hovering above the tree. The inhabitants of the nearby village had a vision that the icon was being carried by St Theodore the Martyr Stratelates. Only after the vision could the icon be removed. The icon also accompanied St Alexander Nevsky on his war expeditions. The icon has lived to see many copies, some of which are also believed to be miracle-working.
