Description

The apparition of the icon of Our Lady of the Unpuppeted Chalice occurred in 1878.

The retired soldier was an alcoholic. Despite the fact that he had drunk all his possessions and become a beggar, losing the power in his legs, he still did not give up his addiction. Once he had a vision three times. An old man appeared to him and instructed him to go to the monastery and to serve a molehill in front of the icon of Our Lady of the Unsullied Chalice, and his soul and body would recover. After the prayer, the peasant returned home completely healthy.

People whose lives were taken over by alcohol began to travel to this icon. Many of them praying with faith and hope before the icon of the Mother of God accessed the miracle of recovery.

The icon also became the patroness of the first sobriety associations being formed in the country.

To this image of the Mother of God, people with problems of alcohol addiction turn with their prayers.
